It was an honor and incredible creative challenge to art direct and edit 7 videos for Atiim Chenzira with a relatively quick turn around time for his Kennedy Center: Arts Across America video submission.
Indigo Arts Alliance, in partnership with Portland Ovations, is honored to have produced an original performance event featuring three based Maine artists to be featured in the Kennedy Center’s national series, Arts Across America. This program series is a part of the Washington, D.C. based John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Social Impact Initiatives. Arts Across America was built to uplift artists and showcase art from communities and regions across the country. This free, online programming will be available on Facebook Live, YouTube, and the Kennedy Center website.
Atiim Chenzira, presents Destiny Manifest: Poetry and Spoken Word. Exploring the African ancestry from East to West Coast and back formulating his identity, and roots as a new Mainer. Lyrics:
Macro Micro y'all!
Ignorance affects us all...
I see your beauty.
Let's flip the page.
Magic leads the way...
World wide madness.
Pandemic life...
Choose your ending...
What's feeling right?

Chorus:
Right Now!
Pieces break to pieces…
Right Now!
Super-Hero speeches…
Right Now!
Wars of countless victims…
Right Now!
Violent Extinctions...
Verse 2:
Starving is...
Rising is…
Levels of…
Poverty…
Money is…
Flowing is…
Keeping them…
Running free…
Poisoning…
Positive…
Solutions…
Contemplate...
Escalate…
Activate…
Conclusions…
Peace will end…
